Work Assist

Are you at risk of losing your job due to illness, injury or disability?

Through Work Assist, BEST can provide:

  • Face-to-face support
  • Advice about job redesign
  • Workplace assessments
  • Workplace modifications or special equipment

You may be eligible for work assist if you:

  • Have worked an average of 8 hours a week over the last 13 weeks
  • Are at risk of losing your job because of your illness, injury or disability
  • Aren’t already getting assistance from a Disability Employment Services Provider

Want to start your own Business?

New Enterprise Incentive Scheme (NEIS) is a program which helps eligible unemployed people to start and run their own business. 

To be eligible you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age at the time of commencing in NEIS Assistance
  • Not prohibited by law from working in Australia
  • Be available to participate in NEIS Training (if relevant) and work full-time in your proposed NEIS Business
  • Have not received NEIS Assistance in the previous three years
