Thumbs up for Green Thumb Enterprises

Its always a nice feeling to trade in the office for a day in the garden- and what better day to do it, than a Friday.

Its a proven fact plants improve well-being, productivity and team morale so we are just following the science, and have taken a trip to Green Thumb Enterprises in Armidale.

Green Thumb Enterprises is a not-for-profit organisation offering opportunities to people to work together, develop their skills and enhance their lives.

Teaming up with BEST Employment, Green Thumb has been able to expand their project through the Work for the Dole program which has lifted their engagement with the community and the unemployed in the Armidale area.

“I’ve been really impressed with the work ethic of the participants, and how they have been engaged in the program”, said Robert Gasparre, Supervisor.

In partnership with Armidale TAFE, Green Thumb operates over several acres of land and has a bright future, potentially looking to expand into more agricultural areas.

BEST Employment is pleased to be able to assist the push forward.

“Without this Work for the Dole program none of this would exist,  it would not be possible”, said Robert Gasparre.
