Inverell, November 2024 – BEST Employment is pleased to announce the election of Rachel McLennan as the new Chair of the BEST Employment Board, succeeding Jon Watts following his retirement.
Rachel, a lifelong resident of Inverell, brings a deep-rooted passion for community engagement to her role as Chair. Raised in a large family that continues to reside locally, she is strongly committed to contributing positively to her community.
Bringing over 25 years of extensive experience, Rachel is a Chartered Accountant with a Bachelor of Commerce. Her career spans two decades in public practice and seven years spearheading her own management accounting and bookkeeping business. Rachel's professional expertise is complemented by her robust involvement in community organisations, including her involvement with the Inverell Picnic Race Club, where she has served as a committee member for 16 years including holding the role of President for 5 years and treasurer for 10 years. Her dedication extends to contributing to Junior St Vincent De Paul, Holy Trinity Parents and Friends, Inverell Netball Association, Toowoomba Grammar School 150 year committee and a Local Private Ancillary Charitable Trust.
Rachel is thrilled to have been elected as the new Chair of BEST Employment. “Stepping into a role previously held by Jon [Watts], will be a challenge and a responsibility I embrace. Jon’s leadership has been nothing short of remarkable. I have big shoes to fill,” she acknowledged recently.
